Anime industry in Japan

Anime represents one of the Japanese very unique forms of animation which is being embraced by millions of people around the world. It may come in the form of movies as well as TV shows, and unlike most western forms of animation, it has a huge variety of genres for all age groups. Usually, anime comes from a Manga (Japanese comics), but sometimes the anime may come first and the Manga will follow. These days, Anime is being shown on TV worldwide more than ever before. Anime such as

Fruits Basket

Naruto

And Death Note

are among American best-sellers.

As a result, people may argue that anime can have a dramatic impact on the presentation of Japanese culture outside the country. In fact, anime might be not just a gateway to Manga, but to other areas of Japanese culture. Since Japanese Anime and Manga are going to overseas markets, kids all over the world might start thinking about Japan as cool country changing the world’s perception of this country.

  1. I can't stand anime... but I was told once that Manga is just a still picture, and Anime is Manga pictures, but moving (like film). (Anime being the word for animated). Not that they were two different styles like I'm hearing now. Is that right?
